The educational goal of the Department of Marketing Management is to build deep competency in the art and science of (1) creative marketing plan talents and (2) active sales talents in the service industry. The curriculum design of Department of Marketing Management combines both academic knowledge and professional experience to provide students both domestic and overseas internship opportunities, international exchange student program, market survey center, and innovative entrepreneurship center. Marketing management students will gain a proficiency in the latest methods and concepts for understanding customer behavior and for devising effective marketing strategies and management skills to meet the era of Marketing 5.0.

A. Course  features

The department courses classify into three modules and each module has its own course design with cooperation with industry internship arrangement to meet students’ learning interest and enforce their professional knowledge and skill.   

1. Marker and Marketing Plan Module

The module provides social network and mobile ecommerce training, maker plan writing and business simulation game, practical learning and internship, as well as internet and maker marketing plan contest to cultivate students’ with business operation and sales skills. The courses of the module also emphases field survey to approach the local industry in order to help them to find the problem and solve the problems.        

2. E-Commerce and Department Store Module

The module will ask senior managers in a department store to join in teaching with students and advise them to attend relative department store service marketing and innovation contest. In the meantime, managers will often take students to visit their department stores and offer internship opportunity. The courses of module equip the class with an ecommerce platform to let students familiarize the operation of internet marketing and website design.  

 3. Digital Marketing and Market Survey Module

The module owns market survey center and accepts enterprise a commission for a market survey project, and the center can enact a local election poll to predict a candidate’s public opinion. The module teaches big data statistical ability to enable students to do a research analysis. Meantime, the curriculum of module provides digital marketing relative courses and practical training opportunity through academia-industry collaboration internet platform.

B. Results of the competition  Internship    opportunities

To intensify competitiveness, the department encourages students to participate marketing relative contests both inside and outside the university such Storytelling Contest on the campus and LINKER Marketing Contest for college student national wide. In addition, the department designs a Marketing Certificate Consulting course to help student taking professional certificate examination (TBSA/WBSA and TIMS marketing relative certificates). Even, students are required to take Technician for Chain Store Service Certificate and Techficiency Quotient Certification (TQC).

D. The way forward

Marketing management majors can prepare themselves for careers in marketing fields that range from product management, advertising, and sales and digital marketing to retailing, e-business, distribution management, and strategic marketing planning. Students can look forward to career opportunities in large and small organizations representing a spectrum of industrial, consumer goods, service, electronic commerce, and consulting firms in both public and private enterprises.
